Landing Triptych (Gold, Hand-finished)
Using gymnastic performance as an allegory for artistic practice, Thenjiwe Niki Nkosi underpins elegant, architectural compositions with a pointed redress of place, performance and the politicisation of bodies.
Landing comprises three square screenprints arranged to form one continuous composition — uniting the abstract and figurative elements of Thenjiwe’s practice.
The work depicts one of the artist’s emblematic gymnasts alongside two seated spectators, realised in a refined palette of pink, blue and damson. The central panel from 10 triptychs will be hand-finished by the artist, making each set unique.
